I had always wondered why people that had recently lost weight most of the time end up gaining back the pounds that they had lost plus some more. I have done some research and found that when people gain weight their fat cells grow in size and number. When you lose weight your fat cells decrease in size but will never decrease in number. That is one of the reasons why it makes it much harder to keep weight off once someone has lost it. The more fat cells someone has the harder it is to keep the fat amount out of the cells. Coupled with this Many of the people that lose weight have a hard time keeping it off because of the temptations they are faced with in everyday life.
When losing weight the best way is to couple good nutrition with low impact cardio and weight training. On average the best way to lose weight is to lose between one and a half to two pounds a week. This does mean a longer period of weight loss but it is the more healthy and creates better results in the end when compared to rapid weight loss. Also this way of weight loss creates more of a habit and a way of life rather than rapid weight loss. Rapid weight loss is less healthy and does not create a way of life like slow weight loss does.
In the end when lossing weight someone should choose to lose small bits of weight over a long period of time. This creates a way of life of eatin healthy and working out. It also ensures less weight gain in the future and less rapid relapse of fat growth.
